Meeting Location: First Presbyterian Church of Hackensack
I’m glad you’re here! My name is Jay Fulton and I have the privilege of serving as the Pastor of Hackensack City Church. I was born and raised in Southern California and moved to the east coast at the Lord's prompting.

In 2011 I moved back to New Jersey (from CA) with my employer (I’m bi-vocational) and began laying the groundwork to begin what has become Hackensack City Church. My wife Kelly and I have 3 adult children and live in Bergen County.

As you look around our website, you will find that our church strives for a decidedly theological ministry that fosters congregational participation. The local church is the outpost of Heaven here on earth and our desire for this church is to reflect that reality in the way that we grow in our knowledge of God, love for others, and service to our community.

If you do gather with us on a Sunday morning, I’d love to meet you, so feel free to introduce yourself because I realize that whether you’ve grown up in the church or have no religious background at all, attending a new church can be daunting. At HCC we’re a community of broken people who understand that our only hope in life and death is the Lord Jesus Christ. It would be my joy to warmly welcome you and point you to that same hope.

In Service for the Master,
Jay Fulton, Pastor
Hackensack City Church

GETTING STARTED.

Your growth and spiritual development are important to us at Hackensack City Church. Jesus left the church with a clear call to baptize and make disciples until he returns (Matthew 28:19-20). We invite you to embark on a lifelong path of discipleship and have provided some information that can help you get started.

STEP 1: Discover hcc

On the first Sunday of the month, HCC holds a 25-minute class titled Discover HCC, which is the initial, exploratory session where you can learn about the church's history, our mission and vision, our core beliefs and priorities.
Learning Outcomes:
  • Understanding of HCC's key doctrinal positions.
  • Understanding of how what we do fits with our core priorities.
  • Understand HCC's distinctive (what makes us who we are)

STEP 2: hcc GROWTH TRACKS

On the third Sunday of the month, HCC holds a second 25-minute class titled HCC Growth Tracks, which is the next session after Discover HCC. This class is designed to show how you can begin your journey of growth and service at HCC.
Learning Outcomes:
  • Understand HCC's emphasis on discipleship and fulling the Great Commission (Matt. 28:19-20)
  • Learn the various pathways towards growth.
  • Learn minimum expectations for the various service opportunities.

STEP 3: SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES

After sitting through both Discover HCC and HCC Growth Tracks, you will have an opportunity to explore service opportunities at HCC. Service opportunities are a wonderful way to help develop your walk. There are three levels of service opportunities, each with their own minimum requirements. Be sure to request a service opportunities guide to see where and how you can get going in service to the church.

STEP 4: MEMBERSHIP

Membership at HCC is the final step of the initial assimilation process, but it doesn't stop here. Membership at HCC is a gateway to deeper fellowship and growth with the HCC family.

Be sure to review the Membership page for full details on the membership process.
